A little bit about me...
Hello, my name is Amanda Stowe and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. I graduated in 2002 with a major in psychology and human development and minors in business management and marketing. I was a student-athlete at UWGB and after graduating from college I was blessed to be able to pursue a career as a professional basketball player. This career led me to places all over the world and it was through this experience that I began working at International Schools, and finding my passion for becoming an educator. I have been working at the International School of Luxembourg for the past five years in the early education classrooms, as well as the physical education department. I will complete my Masters of Arts in Education Program in the spring of 2013 and look forward to using my knowledge from this program in my classroom and educational career.
After graduating from college I decided to pursue a career as a professional basketball player. I have played all over the world in countries that include the USA, Portugal, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Puerto Rico and Luxembourg. I am currently still playing for the club Musel Pikes in Luxembourg. I also work in an early education classroom at the International School and work with a wonderful bunch of students and staff! In addition to this I coach basketball, volleyball and track at the school and thoroughly enjoy developing the students and their athletic skills. As I come to the end of my professional basketball career I look forward to loving my career as an educator and coach as much as I have loved my playing career!

I have spent the last 12 years of my life living overseas. I have loved experiencing new cultures, countries and people but couldn't imagine spending my summers and holidays anywhere but back home on the shores of Lake Michigan. I have been so blessed to have a family that has loved and supported my journey in life, and that always make me feel so much closer to home than I am. My dog, Cosmo, is my constant companion while I am overseas and think she has more stamps in her passport than a lot of people! I feel truly blessed to be in a situation where I can pursue my dreams and passions during the year, and still spend summers and breaks relaxing at home with the people I love most.
